Even just a way to manually edit the code of the default transitions and add a bezier curve, similar to an After Effects expression, would be a godsend. would be fine if they didn't have linear, janky 'Windows Movie Maker 2003 Slideshow' style animations. The default wipes, pushes, slides, dissolves, etc. The most frustrating thing is how Premiere's stock transitions don't have a simple "Bezier in/out" toggle. (The latter always looks best, but is very tedious, especially since my images/graphics aren't necessarily 1920x1080 so I can't use my own predefined In/Out presets). Most of the time I use dip to black (on an adjustment layer, funnily), a dissolve, or manually Bezier keyframing various movements or mask reveals. So I really need transitions, and straight cuts don't work. (Nevermind how shitty most elaborate transitions look unless very exact timing / thought is used).īut 99% of the content I edit is a talking head with still images, graphics, and text - with overlapping, progressive introduction of content. I also steer clear of transition packs for this and because they tend to be extremely jarring or have too much motion for anything that isn't marketing, gaming, or social media.
